This novel was finalist in the National Novel
Award of the Ministry of Culture in 2006. A
rural teacher reveals through the everyday
voices and events of her life, the violent
episodes of the ruthless paramilitary war in the
Valle region of Colombia in the 1990´s.
The narration is in first person and integrates
history and fiction in poetic descriptions that
capture the reader through the end.
